A New Committee for Accounting Stan

A New Committee for Accounting Standards Headed by the Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority

The Prime Minister issued Decree No. 909 of 2011 (published in the Egyptian Gazette, 156 bis (c), on July 7th, 2011) establishing a new committee for the Egyptian accounting and auditing standards, to be issued on the basis of international standards. The Committee is headed by the Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, and its membership is composed of representatives of the Investment Authority, the Central Agency for Auditing, the Egyptian Institute of Accountants and Auditors, the Egyptian Association for Auditors and Accountants, the Division for Auditing and Accounting at the Syndicate of Commerce, and an expert appointed by the head of the Committee. The Decree Stated that the Committee’s decisions are to be ratified by the competent minister (currently the Prime Minister, by virtue of Decision of the Supreme Council for the Armed Forces No. 22 of 2011).

صدر قرار رئيس مجلس الوزراء رقم 909 لسنة 2011 (والمنشور في الوقائع المصرية، عدد 156 تابع (ج)، في 7 يوليو 2011) بتشكيل لجنة جديدة لمراجعة معايير المحاسبة المصرية والمعايير المصرية للمراجعة في ضوء المعايير الدولية. ويرأس اللجنة رئيس هيئة الرقابة المالية وتضم في عضويتها كل من رئيس هيئة الاستثمار، وممثل عن الجهاز المركزي للمحاسبات، ورئيس المعهد المصري للمحاسبين والمراجعين، ورئيس جمعية المحاسبين والمراجعين المصرية، ورئيس شعبة مزاولة مهنة المحاسبة والمراجعة بنقابة التجاريين، وأحد خبراء المحاسبة يختاره رئيسها. وقد نص القرار على أن تعرض اللجنة قراراتها على الوزير المختص لكي يصدرها. وتجدر الإشارة هنا إلى أنه بموجب قرار رئيس المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة رقم 22 لسنة 2011، فإن الوزير المختص هو رئيس مجلس الوزراء.
