GAFI Publishes Several Investment-R

Over the course of the past weeks, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (“GAFI”) has been publishing a series of guides on its website that are related to licensing provided by different governmental agencies in the country. This is in accordance with the Executive Regulations[1] of the Investment Law which require concerned agencies to provide GAFI with the conditions, procedures, timeframes, documents, and forms required to issue licenses, permits, approvals, or allocation of lands in relation to investment activities falling under the purview of the Investment Law. GAFI is then to issue regularly updated guides containing these information, in addition to the fees to be charged, and to make them available through its website and publications. So far, GAFI has issued several guides related to the licensing requirements of the Ministry of Antiquities,[2] the Ministry of Civil Aviation,[3] the Federation of Egyptian Industries,[4] the Gas Regulatory Authority,[5] the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors, and the General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport.   [1] Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2310/2017 enacting the Executive Regulations of the Investment Law No. 72/2017, Official Gazette, Issue No. 43 (bis.)
