The Establishment of Various Indust

On 2 October 2019, a set of nineteen Prime Ministerial decrees were published in the Official Gazette, establishing various industrial chambers.[1] As per Article 2 of the Law on the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Industrial Chambers No. 70 of 2019, an industrial chamber is to be established for each industry or a group of similar or related industries; said industrial chambers have a public legal personality and enjoy financial, administrative, and technical independence. They are subject to the supervision of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and represent their members in front of public authorities in coordination with the Federation. Among the industrial chambers established are chambers for the petroleum and mining industry; the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and medical supplies industry; IT and communications industry; the real estate development industry; engineering industries; the cinema industry; Egyptian textile industries; food industries; and metallurgical industries.   [1] Prime Ministerial Decrees Nos. 2344 to 2362/2019 establishing various industrial chambers, Official Gazette, Issue No. 39 (bis) (h), 2 October 2019.
