Amendment to the Decree Forming a Ministerial Committee to Resolve Investment Disputes
On 26 June 2014, the Prime Minister issued a decree to amend the first Article of the Prime Minister’s Decree No. 1115 of 2012, as amended by Decrees No. 714 of 2013 and No. 363 of 2014, and to form a Ministerial Committee for the Resolution of Investment Disputes (the “Decree”).[1] The Committee is to be chaired by the Minister of Justice, and be further comprised of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, the Minister of Local Development, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Transitional Justice, the Minister of Investment, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Chairman of the Advisory Authority to the Cabinet, and the head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (“GAFI”). This Committee shall examine the applications and complaints brought forth by investors in disputes arising between them and administrative bodies, ministries, and the various organs and units of local government.
